HYDERABAD: A software engineering with an MNC ended his life due to alleged marital problems at Sanathnagar on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Sk Jameel, 31, a resident of Allapur in Sanathnagar. On October 26, 2020, Jameel had married Sohaila Khan of Nuziveedu. After the marriage, according to police, there were differences between Jameel and Sohaila. A year after their marriage, October 2021, based on a complaint of Sohaila, a case was registered against Jameel and his parents under Sections 498-A (subjecting married woman to cruelty), 420 (Cheating) and 307 (Attempt to murder) of the IPC at the Nuziveedu police station. “Jameel and his parents were arrested in that case,” Sanathnagar inspector Muthu Yadav said. The case is still under investigation and, according to police, Jameel was upset over the differences with Sohaila’s family and the police case.
After lunch on Saturday, Jameel went to his room on the ground floor of their two-storied house to sleep. As he did not come out for dinner, family members knocked on the door. As there was no response from Jameel, they peeped in through the window and found him hanging from the ceiling fan. “He was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital. In the suicide note, Jameel mentioned that due to harassment from his wife and her family members, he decided to end his life. Based on the complaint of his father, we registered an abetment to suicide case against his wife and her family members,” the inspector said.
