Police station in-charge Sukhdev Singh said that Kamla Devi resident of village Kharodi police station Cheeka (Haryana) had complained to the police that the accused Geeta Rani resident of Bahadurgarh district Patiala, vijay Kapoor resident of Guhla district Kaithal Haryana, Ranbir Singh resident of Nabha (Patiala) He fixed the relationship of his son Dev Singh with Harpreet Kaur resident of Sunam district Sangrur. The accused also took three lakh rupees from the boy and his mother for marriage.
On 28 April 2020, the accused sent Harpreet Kaur along with Dev Singh to her house without marriage on the pretext of Corona. After 15 days, Harpreet Kaur ran away from the house with cash worth Rs 15,000 and gold and silver omnaments without any reason. The boys later came to know that the said accused had formed a gang, who similarly rob people on the pretext of getting them married or rob them or implicate them in false cases and get away after recovering huge amount.
On the basis of this complaint, the police registered a case against all the accused and arrested the accused Geeta Rani from her house, while the rest of the members are absconding. Police station in-charge Sukhdev Singh said that this gang is likely to be related to the gang of robber brides caught earlier by the Julkan police, but it will be confirmed after the arrest and interrogation of the gang members.
