COP FORCED ME TO FILE FAKE RAPE CASE, CLAIMED WOMAN

LUCKNOW: A woman has alleged that she was forced by a sub-inspector to lodge a fake case against a man on Friday. The woman said that the sub-inspector, identified as Nepal Singh, was also indicted by CB-CID for framing a restaurateur and his helper in a fake ATM loot case. The woman had made allegations in a written complaint to the additional deputy commissioner of police, north zone. On April 1, Nepal Singh was booked by CB-CID along with four other cops on charges of public servant disobeying law, public servant framing incorrect record, punishment for wrongful confinement and Arms Act for framing one Santosh and his physically challenged aide Irfan. The woman in her complaint to the additional deputy commissioner of police, north has alleged that Nepal Singh first asked her to lodge a case against one Santosh whom he had also framed in a case of ATM loot. “He insisted to lodge a case of luring a woman for marriage and raping her and taking her ornaments at Madiaon police station,” said the woman.

The woman said that this case was almost over, but last week Nepal Singh barged into her house and got her signed a paper. “Later, I got to know that it was for lodging a case against Santosh,” she added. Additional deputy commissioner of police, north, Prachi Singh, told TOI that the woman was asked to give her statement in front of the magistrate. When asked what action would be taken against the errant sub-inspector, the officer said that the matter would be discussed with senior officers.
