Police registered an FIR after 11 months of complaint of first marriage and then cheating in the name of going to Canada. The victim youth has filed a case against wife, mother-in-law, maternal uncle, maternal mother-in-law and maternal sister-in-law.
Chandigarh. In Moga, Punjab, a young man spent 31 lakh rupees to send his wife to Canada. After three days of marriage, the bride also went to Canada, but her attitude changed as soon as she reached there. Ten days later, when her husband called, the wife replied that if she called him again, she would file a case against him. In this case of cheating, the young man has filed a case against wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, maternal uncle, mother-in-law and maternal sister-in-law.
In this case, the victim youth had given a written complaint in Moga's police station Badhniklan on 11 March 2020 itself. The police has now gone and registered an FIR in this case after 11 months. Even after registering the case late, the police have not been able to arrest the accused, while except the wife, all the accused are in the country. The victim Devinder Singh is a resident of village Daudhar Sarki. Investigating Officer Assistant SHO Pritam Singh said that Davinder Singh son Gursewak Singh was married in August 2018 with Harjashanpreet Kaur daughter Sukhwinder Singh of Mandiani village of Ludhiana.
In the complaint given by the victim, it has been said that Davinder's maternal uncle-Masad had told about Harjashanpreet of his village Madiyani that she is IELTS pass (IELTS exam) and wants to go abroad for study. If he marries her then he too will settle abroad. But Devinder will have to bear the expenses from marriage to sending abroad. Devinder agreed to this and spent 31 lakh rupees to send his wife to Canada.
Fraud case registered on them
Devinder, who was a victim of fraud, told that when he went to his in-laws' house after calling his wife, he was not treated well even there. On the other hand, the wife also misbehaved with him, then he complained to the police. But after 11 months, the police have registered a case of fraud against Harjashanpreet Kaur, her father Sukhwinder Singh, Harpreet Kaur wife Sukhwinder Kaur resident of village Mandiani district Ludhiana, Harjit Singh, Sarbjit Kaur and Amanjot Kaur resident of Alamgir Patti Lakhveer district Ludhiana.
