Indore. 50-year-old Bharat Gehlot, a resident of Kali Billaud in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh, was fed Datura by his wife Savitri (38) mixed with gram flour vegetable. Due to which the husband's health deteriorated late in the night, then on the pretext of treatment, along with lover Rohit Chauhan (22), took him to the forest 80 km away and strangled him to death with a rope.
Rohit took the help of his friend Arjun to throw the corpse. Together, the three threw the body in a 150 feet deep ditch of Beka's forest. It took the police more than three hours to retrieve the body. The police have taken all three into custody. TI Sanjay Sharma told that on Thursday afternoon, Savitri Gehlot, a resident of Kali Billaud, reached the Betma police station and told that husband Bharat Gehlot is a machine operator in Bagdun's L&T company.
On March 1, he left home to go to the company but did not return in the evening. Even after searching here for friends and relatives, they could not be found. Meanwhile, Bharat Gehlot's brother Jagdish and relatives also reached the police station and doubted Savitri for not meeting Bharat. When the police strictly interrogated Savitri, on Thursday itself, late in the evening, she herself took the police to the forest of Beka to get the body recovered. At 10.30 pm, the body was taken out from the ditch. Police have recovered datura peels from his house and rope from the spot.
On the night of 1 March, at 1.30 pm, Rohit and Savitri had taken Bharat on a bike to get him treated as ill. People around saw him leaving which he told the police. At the same time, Rohit Chauhan was living on rent from Savitri's place for one and a half years. Rohit works in a factory in Bagdun itself. He used to eat food with them as well. During this time a relationship developed between the two. There used to be disputes between husband and wife regarding this matter. Savitri has rented out 8 rooms at the back of the house.
A day before the murder, Bharat's brother Jagdish, who lived nearby, took objection to Rohit's stay in front of Bharat and had also hinted about Savitri and Rohit. There was a lot of dispute between both of them regarding this matter. At the same time, when Bharat did not show up even on March 2, Shetanbai, the sister of Bharat, who lived in the village, asked Savitri where Bharat was, then she said that she has gone to my aunt's place. There the police case of the aunt's son has happened.
The deceased Bharat and Savitri, accused of murder, have 10-year-old daughter Roshni and 8-year-old son Kanha. At present, her aunt has taken her along with Seema. In the affair of husband and wife, the lives of these innocent people have been crushed. On Friday, the brothers performed the last rites of Bharat.
